Naomi Watts was “horrified” when she first saw her partner Liev Schreiber dressed as a woman for his upcoming movie Taking Woodstock.

The Scream star had to shave his body hair and wear ladies clothing to play an ex-Marine transvestite in the upcoming comedy.

Schreiber’s longterm girlfriend, and mother of his two children, was in shock when she saw his transformation.

He says, “She was horrified! It flipped her out. She was in shock for 30 seconds. Then she started to crack jokes.”

And the actor also struggled to accept his new image: “It was exhilaratingly humiliating. But I completely became giddy in a strange way the moment I put on the dress. Vanity quickly set in, and I thought to myself, ‘I wish my belly was flatter’. Let’s face it, I don’t look great in a dress, but it’s nice to hear I have nice legs.

“The shoes are awful. But for a 6-foot-3-inch (tall) man, to walk around in stilettos is nearly impossible. But women have no idea what it’s like for a grown hairy man to remove all of his hair from his body. Now that hurts!”

Michael Jackson will be honoured with a permanent memorial at the site of his first ever gig - the famed Apollo Theater in New York City.

The late superstar first took to the stage at the venue in 1969 with his pop siblings when they were billed as The Jackson Brothers.

The group went on to win an amateur singing competition there two years later and the appearance launched the career of the Jackson 5. The pop superstar returned to the Apollo on numerous occasions throughout his career.

Fans gathered at the building in the days after Jackson’s sudden death in June (09) and now bosses at the venue have decided to erect a permanent tribute to the star by inducting him into their Walk of Fame.

A plaque to commemorate the star’s achievements will be erected on the tribute wall next year (10).

Apollo Theatre president Jonelle Procope, says, “Fans from all over the world (came) to express their memories, grief and condolences for the King of Pop. The wall became a part of that tribute and is now truly a piece of history.”

Fall Out Boy singer Patrick Stump has been arrested in Hollywood over a motoring offense.

The Dance, Dance hitmaker was taken into custody on Tuesday night (25Aug09) by Beverly Hills police officers for an outstanding traffic warrant.

The rocker was held at West Hollywood Sheriff’s station on a $15,000 bail bond, according to TMZ.com.

Kevin Jonas is facing a tough decision ahead of his wedding to Danielle Deleasa - which famous brother to pick as his best man.

The 21 year old’s siblings, Joe and Nick, were delighted when Kevin announced his engagement to Deleasa last month (Jul09) - but now they’re fighting it out for the honour of standing by his side at the altar.

Nick Jonas says, “We’ve talked about it a little bit. He’s working it all out, but we’ll see what happens.”

But even if he misses out on best man duties, the youngest Jonas Brother is just pleased Kevin has found the woman for him.

He adds, “I’m happy for them and we love her, and we’re happy to have her as part of the family.”

Women’s rights campaigners have blasted the sentence handed to Chris Brown for his attack on Rihanna, insisting the R&B star should have been jailed.

Brown was given six months hard community labour, five years probation, and ordered to stay away from the Umbrella hitmaker after pleading guilty to felony assault.

He threatened to kill the singer and repeatedly punched, bit, and slapped her during the horrifying attack in his car after a pre-Grammy Awards party in Los Angeles in February (09).

Brown admitted the assault in June (09) and was sentenced at an L.A. court on Tuesday (25Aug09) after striking a deal with prosecutors.

But campaigners have criticised his punishment, insisting it sends the wrong message to perpetrators of domestic abuse.

Women’s Institute chief Roslyn Muraskin says, “I think it is terrible. Here is a guy that beat up his girlfriend - he deserves to see some prison time.”

Outrageous comedian Artie Lange’s driving under the influence court date has been postponed until next month (Sep09).

The Howard Stern Show regular’s Nissan Sentra collided with the back of a Pontiac in July (09) and he was booked for DUI.

He was ordered to take an alcohol screening test, which his lawyer later insisted he passed. However, police believed he was still drunk while driving and requested a urine sample.

He entered an initial not guilty plea in July (09).

Lange was due back in court on 26 August (09).

But the date has been pushed back until 9 September (09). A reason for the rescheduled pre-trial was not known as WENN goes to press.

The Scooby Doo film franchise is set for a revamp with a prequel to the 2002 film starring Hollywood couple Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. underway.

Scooby Doo: The Mystery Begins, which features a cast of unknowns, will be released straight to DVD and there are already plans to shoot a follow-up.

Robbie Amell, who plays Fred in the new film, “There’s a second script… In the first film, we solve our first mystery - but, by the end of the mystery, we’ve destroyed a lot of stuff. The next one would be set at a lake resort, a summer camp kind-of setting, where we’re forced to work to pay off the damage we made in the first film.”

Frank Welker, a member of the original ’Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!’ voice cast, provides the voice of Scooby-Doo in the new movie.

Salma Hayek, boxer/singer Oscar De La Hoya and late star Ricardo Montalban are to be honoured at the upcoming ALMA Awards, which celebrate Latin culture.

Frida star Hayek will be presented with the Anthony Quinn Award for Industry Excellence, while De La Hoya will receive the Special Achievement in Sports Television honour at the event next month (Sep09).

Montalban, who died in January (09), will be the subject of a special tribute hosted by West Side Story star Rita Moreno.

The movie hunk faces a weighty battle to lose a pile of pounds (kilograms) for his new movie Inception, which has been written by The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan.

A set insider tells RadarOnline.com, “There’s an action scene coming up at the end of the year in which he needs to appear emaciated, so the pressure is on.

“Leo isn’t the kind of guy who can just lose a radical amount of weight… He’s following a strict diet and is embarking on a rigorous workout regime.

“Leo’s a pretty determined kind of guy, when he sets his mind to things he always achieves them. Though this is going to be hard for him, you can guarantee he’ll succeed.”

Eddie Cibrian’s estranged wife has accepted the actor’s demand for a divorce - just after hearing her husband is planning a romantic Mexican vacation with alleged new girlfriend Leann Rimes.

Rumours have been flying around Cibrian and Rimes ever since the pair were caught kissing during a break from filming their TV movie Northern Lights in March (09) while still married to their prospective partners.

The pair hit out at the reports, but both subsequently split from their spouses.

And Cibrian’s wife Brandi Glanville insists she is keen to go along with her husband’s decision to divorce, confirming that he filed for a legal separation earlier this week (24Aug09).

She tells E! News, “He filed yesterday and I accepted it. We’re getting a divorce. We talked to each other yesterday.”

And Glanville has also confirmed Cibrian’s secretive relationship with Rimes, revealing that the pair are jetting off on a romantic break.

She adds, “They’re going on vacation this weekend to Mexico. I’m looking forward to seeing those pictures.”

But Glenville insists she isn’t suffering from a broken heart: “It’s just over for me. We’re both happy. This is going to be good.”
